Hello again I am back to you today with another of my entries for the Through the Purple Haze Challenges Design Team. This week it is a Double team Challenge Which means both teams get to take part and you get to choose which is your favourite creation. So don't forget to visit and cast your vote, no pressure like but I will really appreciate all the support I receive in this my first Double Team Challenge :)
I belong to Team A and this week we are sponsored by Digital Delights by Louby Loo - prize $5 coupon for their Digi store
and Team B are sponsored by 'Little Owl' Candy Bites Workshop - prize mini online workshop ( how cool is that)
The Theme is - Anything goes (with an optional Halloween Twist)
Now on to my creation, I really tried to incorporate the Halloween twist but to be honest I am just not a Halloween Person and I didn't have very much in my stash so it was a struggle and in the end I decided not to go with it at all, but I promise I did try :)
I started off with a plain card board box
and decided I would transform it into a box to hold cards at a birthday party.
To begin I used my craft knife and ruler to make the slit in the top for the cards to be posted through then I covered the top section with Kraft corrugated card.
The lip around the top section was covered with red satin ribbon adhered with hot glue gun and finished off on the top and bottom with black and white chevron washi tape.
I then made the Rosette from 2 pieces of 5x30cm pieces of card joined together and scored on the boxmaker part of my score board, I concertina folded them and adhered them with hot glue onto a large scalloped circle from my xcut scalloped circle nesting dies. I cut 2 more smaller circles for the front from contrasting paper, and finished it off with a red button and 3 red gems.
I really enjoyed making this project, I think it is a really fun way to keep all your cards in one place at your party.
Don't forget to come over and play along at TTPH Challenges
Thanks for stopping by today
