Special card for a little boy

Hi All the card I am sharing with you all today is a card that I was commissioned to make this week. The brief was that it was to be a bookatrix style card, have a matching gift box, and it was  to have a Noah's Ark theme and this is what I came up with

Some more wedding cards

Hey all, its a miserable day here today looks like winter is definitely on its way, good news for us crafter's, we can stay inside snuggled up creating away without feeling guilty :) Today I would like to share with you two wedding cards I made this week. Both cards were for the same couple and both cards were made using the glitter girls embossing boards but as you can see they are completely different.
Two Hearts

The Two hearts card, 6x6 square, is made from Open Hearts and Tall Stories board, I embossed and cut two hearts of different sizes from the board, then using an orange Artiste ink pad I inked two different embossing folders and after placing a heart in each folder I ran them through my big shot I then gave each one a blast with the heat gun to ensure the ink was set. Both hearts were then edged with peach lace secured with hot glue. I matted and layered 2 layers of card and paper, each sheet 1/2cm smaller than the one before the hearts are adhered using foam pads and I made a pocket using the same paper and card and edged with lace to hide the join. The butterfly and corner decal are both stamped with the same ink as before, heat embossed with holographic embossing powder, die cut and finished with gems.

Lovely Lace
For The Lovely Lace card, I wanted to try something I rarely do, monochrome, this one is made from the Celebration Board, the base of the card is cut to 24x19cm and scored in half, this ensures the first layer from the board fits nicely with an even boarder around it. I embossed the full shape on the board 4 times and each time I cut off another layer, if you cut carefully you can use the left overs on another project so as not to waste, the large oval layer was edged with ruffled lace, as before, and each layer was then added to the card alternating between using double sided, and foam tape. The sentiment was printed from my laptop and cut with an oval shape cutter, I then heat embossed this with a triple layer of clear embossing powder and finished with gems, the corner piece is made from spellbinder dies and flowers and pearls from my stash and the rings are a Marianne die.
Lovely Lace and matching box
Because of the unusual size of the card, and to make it that little bit extra special, I made a matching box from the same card, I decorated it with an element from the same board and the lace and gems I used on the card. Thank you for stopping by today and if you have any questions please just ask, bye for now

Colouring with promarkers

Hi all Today I would like to share with you my latest obsession, ahem I mean passion, colouring with my promarkers - when I first started I was completely overwhelmed and didn't know where to start to say I was scared is an understatement  but  then I came across Sarah Hurley on create and craft and I was hooked,  from watching

Sarah and using some of her hints and tips I got the confidence to have a go myself. These are some of the first pictures I coloured as you can see  and as you can see I didn't really know what I was doing as regards colouring and shading but I enjoyed it so much I just wanted to keep colouring, and practice, practice, practicing. I bring my markers everywhere with me, I find colouring so relaxing, I even took them to the beach.
These are some examples of cards I have made using my coloured images which are a mix of rubber and digi stamps. I Still only have four sets of   markers so far but they are a great foundation as they are a set of skin tones, skin accents grey tones and brights  so there are huge scope for different colour combinations and I am gradually adding to my collection as I go along.  thank you for stopping by and taking a look at my work if there is anything I can help you with please get in touch bye for now Nicola x

Wedding Card

Hi All, the wedding season is still in full swing, I have been asked to do lots of wedding cards lately, so  today I would like to share with you a wedding card and matching gift box I made this week
using the Glitter Girls Celebration Embossing Board, some spellbinders dies, a
 heart punch and some gems.

The card is an easel style card

It has a full size card on the front instead of just a single layer of card, this enabled me to put a printed verse inside and room for a message to be written, there is also a pocket inside for the "gift". The sentiment is printed and heat embossed and the hearts are punched and embossed and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Thanks for stopping by today, if you have questions or, there is anything I can help you with or maybe you would just like to leave a comment please feel free I would love to hear from you
Till next time Nicola x

Baby gifts

Hi all today I would like to share with you photos of some baby gifts I have made recently. These are personalised keepsakes with matching cards.

The pieces for the pram are hand-cut from a template and are embellished using papermania paper cut with spellbinder dies, gems and ribbons. When it came to the boxes I didn't have sheets of paper larger enough to copy straight from the template so I had to  improvise and  use the measurements from the template to cut and score A4 sheets of paper, and adhered them together using red line tape. They are very time consuming and require lots of concentration but really worth it in the end.

The competition I have entered my Wedding card into is still running and I am currently in second place so I could really do with your help all you need to to is click here and then like the photo I would really appreciate your support.

A pleasant surprise

Hi  All I have had a very busy time  since I was last here with you, First off I went to "The Creative Craft's Show" in Belfast on the 19th  with my crafty friends Elaine and Jean and my eldest son Owen, it was such a fun day, lots and lots of laughs. We all picked up some good little bargains but my most significant purchase was two sets of spellbinder dies, my first two sets  might I add! I was so excited with my new toys, I was blabbing on about them to my O/H  about how great they were and what a great bargain  I had gotten, the RRP is £30 and I got both sets for £30, when himself looked at me, so seriously and said " you paid £30 for  them??, there's something wrong with you" lol non-crafters just don't understand!! So the next day I set off trawling the web to find inspiration and hints on how to get the best use from these  little beauties, I came across some really great websites and youtube tutorials,  One such site was Christinine Emberson's, Christine is on the spellbinder's design team and has a really fantastic blog  and well worth a visit, anyhow on the day I was visiting Christine was running a  competition and the prize was a set of Spellbinder's, you had to leave a comment and your link, simple as that, so I checked back a few days later and guess what ........I WON!!!  I was thrilled to say the least, so now I have some happy mail to look forward to :)
Today I want to share with you the first card I made with my new dies, it is a birthday card for my son who turned 11 on Thursday

It is a book style card, the first of this kind I have made, and I am really happy with how it turned out. I must dash now as I have a party with 10 eleven year old boys to get to, but I will be back over the next few days with some more of my new makes, thanks for stopping by Nicola
