Butterfly Gatefold Card

Hi all today I would like to share this card I made recently, it was slightly unusual in that it was for a couple who were both turning 50 and were having a joint party. It is a 6" square gatefold held closed by a band containing the sentiment. I tried to keep the colours as neutral as possible and the embellishments to a minimum, as I didn't want it to be too frilly or feminine, so I chose a butterfly and some diamante's which I think worked really well, even if I do say so myself!

Inside was simply decorated with a panel of co-ordinating card and a verse, I left the two side panels blank as it was from a group of friends and they all wanted to write messages.

I made a mini envelope and attached it to the back for the "gift". I really enjoyed making this card as it was a little different to normal given the specifics I had to follow. Thanks for stopping by and if you have any comments or queries I would be delighted to hear them

Kids Classes

Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone...... at our class this week we embraced our National day and made two St. Patrick's Day themed projects. The first was a card for which  the children made their own backing paper by gluing strips of scrap paper to a piece of cardboard and then embossing it, they matted and layered it onto an A6 card and embellished it with diamantees, and a flower and shamrock they made from punched shapes. The second project was a little bag/box which could be used to hold treats or keepsakes, I had the boxes pre-scored but the children assembled and decorated them with paper, ribbon and punched shapes.

A new beginning

Well it is safe to say that I have been pretty rubbish at keeping my blog up to date, but I have a promised myself that I will try much harder to up date it regularly. Over the last few months I have done a couple of exciting things and learned some fab new techniques along the way, which I have been trying out in my projects. The first of which was a workshop with Yvonne Tune, a truly enjoyable day from which I came away really  inspired, you can visit Yvonne's Blog  here.
The second exciting new venture I had was starting to teach a Kids Class we are already 4 weeks in and I can't believe how much I am enjoying it, the kids are so enthusiastic and it is such fun to teach them. Here are some photos of what we have made so far....

Thanks for stopping by today I will be back again soon :)
