Challenge #30

Good Morning All
Today we have a new challenge starting over on Through the purple haze challenges
and this week we are sponsored by Derwent

Our theme is use a "Pencil Coloured or Drawn Image"
And the prize for one lucky winner is a Creative Card Pack
So get your pencils out and get colouring!!

Firstly I would just like to say I have never coloured with Colouring Pencils before, bar a brief trial of water colour pencils a couple of years back, so this was a real challenge for me but one I thoroughly enjoyed and I will definitely try again.
I only had ordinary colouring pencils but I was unsure how to use them so I turned to my good friend "google" to get some well  need advice and I soon discovered that I would need Low Odor Mineral Spirits and  a Paper stump as far as I knew I didn't have either of them to hand so I needed to find some alternatives upon further investigation I realised that White Spirits would so the job just as well and I came across This tutorial on how to make your own Paper Stump.
So I stamped my image, from Craft works Cards, in black staz-on ink onto super smooth white card and I began colouring, I used 7 pencils in total
Black
Grey
Purple
2 Shades of Green
2 Shades of Blue

I began laying down the colour in the darkest areas and blending with the white spirits and the paper stumps, continuously adding shading as I went along. I was very pleased with how my image turned out considering it was my first time to use this technique.
Below is the finished card after I added the Pencil coloured image
The base of the card is a purple 15 x 15 cm square card, the Patterned Paper is from a set I received free with a magazine, this was matted and layered onto purple card and finished with a Wide organza ribbon/bow and a diamante swirl from my stash

Challenges I would like to enter this into are:
A Gem of a challenge Spots and Strips
Treasured times rubber stamps challenges Anything goes with layers
Chocolate coffee cards Teddy Bears

Please stop by the Challenge Blog and check out all the fantastic project by my fellow DT

Until next time

Blender

TTPH Challenge #25

Good morning all we have a new challenge starting over at Through the Purple Haze Challenges today
and this week the theme is Pick your Favourite Colour

We are lucky to have two fantastic sponsors

Prize: 4 Digi's
Prize: $12 Coupon

and
so the lucky winner is in for a lovely treat.

The design team had a choice of four digis from Delicious Doodles to choose from
And I picked quiet contemplation to work with
And this is what I made with it

Because our theme this week was "Pick you favourite colours" I decided to colour the digi stamp using my favourite colours to colour with, Grey scale with a dash of Red, for this I used the following Promarkers

Skin tone Satin
Pink
Blender Pen
Cool Grey 5
Cool Grey 4
Cool Grey 3
Cool Grey 2
Cool Grey 1
Black
Burgundy and
Berry Red

You can't really tell from the Photo but the image is printed onto a textured pearlescent paper as I felt that this added to the oriental feel of the card, after colouring I used Cosmic Shimmer "Autumn" Twinkles glitter to highlight the flower in her hair and the Tassel on the umbrella

I wanted the image to be the main focal point on the card so I kept the embellishments to a minimum using only a ribbon, bow and two heart pins from my stash.

The image is matted onto silver/grey paper and layered onto textured oriental paper from my stash.
I rounded the corners with a corner punch.
Card is a 15cm square

Challenges I would like to enter this card into
time 4 scrap - Chinese New Year
my sheri crafts - Use a Digi
scrap bitz copics - Texturize it
one stitch at a time  - Use a Digi
hobby cutz challenges - Lots of Layers

Thank you for stopping by today
Please hop over to TTPH to see the rest of the fab creations from the DT
and don't forget to add your project to the challenge

Through The Purple Haze Challenge #24

Good Morning all
It is all systems go over at Through The Purple Haze Challenges with our first challenge of 2014
and to start us all off it is an Anything Goes, Double team challenge so everybody is taking part

Our Sponsor this week is the wonderful crafty sentiments designs and they are offering 3 of their beautiful Digi stamps to the winner of the challenge.

The  design team had a choice of some really sweet digis to choose from and I chose He Love Me and this is my creation

I wanted to try something different with this project
After printing the digi I coloured her with my promarkers using
Skin : Dusky Pink Blush and Satin
Hair :Cinnamon Shale and Henna

Then I printed her again                                                                                                    this time onto patterned paper                                                                                       from my stash,                                                                                                    and I could fussy cut her dress and                                                                             shoes                                                                                                                        I stuck them on top of the                                                                                       original stamp with my glue pen

I wanted to keep the overall look of the card delicate so I stuck to cream embellishments and
a pink ribbon and button. The butterflies are die cut using a Sizzix die and then embossed layered and finished with gems.

The corner decal is cut from a Joy Crafts die and again finished with gems.
To finish I have used an Xcut multi punch to make the oval mat she is sitting on, the cream boarder across the centre and to decorate the two right hand corners

Thanks for stopping by today and please do pop over to TTPH
to check out all the fantastic project from my very talented Teamies
And of course to enter into this weeks challenge

Until next time

Keepsake Cards

Hi All just a quick post from me today to share with you a couple of cards I made this week I am a loving using my Keepsake Embossing Boards at  the moment and both cards were made using the Bookatrix and  the Mini Boox boards. I did however come out of my comfort zone on these as I used elements that I would normally use on my cards, Decoupage and Peel offs, but I have to say I am very happy with how both turned out.

The first Card is a classic Bookatrix style card and is for a Ruby Wedding anniversary this comes in a matching box

The Second card is for a little boy's First Birthday and is an easel style the image is a Decoupage Forever Friends Bear and he is layered on to the Mini Boox.

Thanks for stopping by today
